We are an organization based in the coastal region of Kenya. We work with the communities involved in the fish value chain.
At Tamu Organics, we are on a mission to create positive change in the coastal region of Kenya. Our organization is deeply committed to both environmental conservation and the well-being of local communities. Through innovative and sustainable initiatives, we are shaping a future where nature thrives, and people prosper.
We are in partnership with fisher folk for raw material resourcing. Starting with the BMUs, Fish vendors, Fishermen, CBOs, Mama Karanga & fish processing firms. For this to happen we have MOUs and Terms & Conditions in place.
What We Do
Through a unique blend of mangrove restoration, beekeeping, and sustainable resource utilization, we are paving the way for a brighter future. Partnering with Community Interest Groups (CIGs) in Shimoni/Kibuyuni, we restore mangrove habitats, vital for coastal biodiversity and climate resilience. We also empower CIGs in beekeeping, establishing beehives along the coastal mangroves, promoting pollination and sustainable honey production.
Furthermore, we harness the potential of fish scraps as a valuable resource. Fish scraps are transformed into raw material for fertilizer and feeds, benefitting not only the environment but also supporting fish, chicken, and cattle farming in the region.
